DTG printer, or direct-to-garment printer, is a sustainable and environmentally friendly garment printing technology that works similarly to an inkjet printer in an office, but the main difference is that the printed medium is fabric instead of paper, and pigment inks designed for fabrics are required.
DTG printers are more suitable for pure cotton and cotton blended fabrics (white and light-colored fabrics) because DTG ink can be well absorbed and bonded by cotton fibers, making the printed patterns vivid and colorful. For dark fabrics, pretreatment operations are required before printing.
The standard for washing printed garments is 50-100 times, but in fact, the life of DTG printed T-shirts will be longer. The specific life depends on your usage scenario.
DTG technology is more suitable for multi-color and small order printing, with extremely high cost-effectiveness, while screen printing is suitable for large-volume orders, but the initial equipment investment cost is relatively high and requires a certain amount of storage space.
